Today is #NationalCreamTeaDay so we have to celebrate! And my friends at Haywood and Padgett have given me some of their scone home baking kits to give away. What a lovely thing it is to make your own scones with your family and more or less guarantee they’re going to come out edible – ha!
Each kit is designed to bake 3 batches of scones and it includes caramel pieces, choc chip and raisins so you can decide what you want to put in. There’s even a scone cutter and a couple of tea bags so when you’ve done all the hard work, you can put your feet up, have a brew and scoff ’em.
If you don’t win, you can buy them. They retail at £19.99 (you’ll find them on Amazon in July) BUT at the moment there’s an introductory offer of £15.99 (including p/p) and you can order them by sending a PM to the company on Instagram – @haywoodandpadgett or email the company via their website (see top right).
I’ve known the owners of this company for years – they make a million scones every day in their Barnsley factory. They built it from the ground and it’s still run by the family who are as lovely and down to earth as they come. They were the inspiration for Butterly’s Scones in my book – I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day – and the paperback is out at Christmas so you can expect some more scone activity.
I’ll be running a competition on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on 25th June. Just follow the draw entry rules and keep your fingers crossed. Hope you win. x
