Book Sales

Four million hardbacks, paperbacks & ebooks.

Territories where my books are also sold: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Holland, Germany, France, Hungary, Norway, Thailand, Norway, Indonesia, Turkey, Croatia, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Russia, Denmark, Czech Republic, audio in the US.

Books also available in audio and large print.

The last 12 books have gone into the Sunday Times Best Seller top 10 list and my highest position is 2 (behind Richard flipping Osman).

The Perfectly Imperfect Woman – my first commercial hardback – went straight in at no 10 after 3 days, then 8, then 12, then 13. Reprints were ordered before the end of the first day sales becausa most supermarkets in Yorkshire were sold out completely after the first day. At my launch, Tesco sold out before I’d arrived and we had to hold a second launch where waiting times in the queues were two hours long and almost all 400 of the stock were sold.

The hardback of the Magnificent Mrs Mayhew went into the ST chart at number 5 and stayed there for 3 weeks. There were 2 reprints before the 2nd week had completed.

The paperback of the Magnificent Mrs Mayhew had four special supermarket editions.

Public Speaking

I am available via Women Speakers for after-dinner/lunch/event speeches/ TV work.  Please contact me directly here or via:

I talk about my journey from wannabe schoolgirl to international author or the joys of cruising, humour, Christmas, love, pets, clearing the clutter, the maturing of people, how to write a book… even poetry evenings, and can tailor make a speech for any occasion.  My talks are jolly and inspiring and ‘devoid of depressing personal tragedy’.  I am the poster girl for bucking trends and I never mind sharing a stage with other writers/artists/poets.

I do a lot of talks onboard ships  and am a well-known ‘cruise ambassador’.

Journalism and Other Media

I am a weekly columnist in the Barnsley Chronicle but have written many articles in – and have been a frequent contributor to – the nationals and magazines on subjects ranging from the menopause to the grand old days of wrestling, the rights of grandparents to the wonderful world of greetings cards and how to relax in a spa.   I do many product reviews. I also have written many short fictional stories for women’s magazines and Sunday newspaper supplements.

I am a monthly columnist for My Weekly with a serial story called Finding Molly.

I have appeared many times on BBC News Saturday and Sunday morning newspaper reviews and Breakfast TV and regional TV and am a regular on Radio Sheffield.  I have also appeared on Keith Lemon’s Lemon Aid and Come Dine with Me, series 13, episodes 26-30 9 (mine was 29 – and I won!)

I am also an accomplished actress and have performed on many a stage. My degree from Exeter University was in Drama and Education.

I have written copy and jokes for the greetings card industry for thirty years.  My first job was ghost-writing a few of the very first Purple Ronnie cards to hit the shelves.

I am patron of Barnsley Youth Choir, the Well – a cancer therapy centre for patients from Barnsley hospital and Yorkshire Cat Rescue.  I have also written a book to raise funds for a local lady who lost her house and children in a fire.  So far it’s raised over £37,000.  I have a poetry called ‘A Cat-Shaped Space’ which is in aid of Yorkshire Cat Rescue and has raised thousands (don’t keep track of the full amount – but it’s a lot!)

I have a large social media presence which is growing fast.  Figures on this page are updated weekly.

Brand Ambassador

I have worked closely with various companies in the past to our mutual benefit.
